The Bavubuka All*Starz Textiles Project
September 17, 2009
The Bavubuka Textiles Program teaches Ugandan youth how to knit and sew. With over 25 students, the textiles program provides kids with a useful skill that may lead to opportunities to earn extra income. Using their creativity, Ugandan youth are able to design bags, hats, and blouses. The Bavubuka Girls Project has adopted Bavubuka Textiles since the majority of the textiles participants are active members of Bavubuka Girls. Currently, Bavubuka Girls finances the cost of yarn, thread, and various other materials that are necessary to sustain the Textiles Program. In order to continue advancing the mission of the Textiles Program, Bavubuka Girls will be sending the first shipment of bags to the U.S. in December 2008!
